Apprentice Programs

For anyone interested in becoming wedding planners, or those just interested in learning more about the wedding industry we offer our Apprenticeship Program. Apprenticeships are offered on a limited basis and applicants must be professional, organized, and take initiative as well as direction. Apprentices have the opportunity to learn what happens behind the scenes in the office as well as hands on experience at real weddings.

Apprenticeship Program fees begin at $1,000.

Apprentices are responsible for their own transportation and accommodations.

In the Office

  • Learn how to organize multiple clients, learn the basic about the consultant contract and vendor contracts, work with our budget program, how to establish wedding checklists, creating wedding agendas.
  • See our Vendor Library and "Wedding Bible" from which we help make vendor referrals. Learn about vendor relationships.
  • Learn about the options when it comes to all the paper items - Save the Dates and Invites, ceremony seating cards, etc.
  • View and discuss the importance of a portfolios
  • Review a client's file to note organization, vendor info, correspondence, notes, etc.
  • Discuss Wedding Design and how we approach it.

Real Wedding Experience

  • Attend the rehearsal, meet the bridal party and their families at the wedding ceremony location
  • Help collect all wedding day items ie. Guest book, toasting glasses, programs, placecards, etc.
  • Observe Julie as she orchestrates the rehearsal
  • Observe Julie's direction of bridal party, family and guests as the day progresses
  • Help oversee setup of ceremony site ie. Programs and guest book in place, name cards on chairs, special items for ceremony in place
  • Understand the process of the day's setup and timing ie. vendor arrivals, ceremony setup, reception completion
  • Get an overall view of the behind-the-scenes action and how Julie prioritizes where to be and when to be there
  • Greet guests as they enter, making sure they feel welcome and taken care of
  • Watch Julie as she organizes the bridal party and gets everyone down the aisle on time
  • Assist in setup of reception site ie. Placement of menus, placecards and favors, make sure tables, chairs etc. are arranged according to diagram, etc.
  • Assist in guiding guests to the reception site once ceremony has concluded
  • See Julie coordinate special dances and toasts, making sure that important people ie. Family members, photographer, videographer are present when they take place
  • Secure and pack up all extra items at the end of the night ie. Extra favors, menus, programs, placecards, etc. and put gifts in the proper location.
